Thinking ahead to cold weather: Homebound Reader Program

Judy Ricks, reference librarian, has been out visiting retirement homes in the community assisting patrons in signing-up for library cards, advertising library services and programs, and enlisting folks into the Homebound Reader Program.

The Homebound Reader Program is a free program specifically designed for those who are confined to their homes by an illness, disability, mobility or injury (temporary or long-term).

A volunteer is assigned to you to drop off and pick up library materials. Homebound readers are allowed to request books, place holds on items & check out magazines, audiobooks and books. Anyone interested in volunteering for the program or signing up can call Ricks at 641-792-4108.
