Newton is alive with the sound of music! Sound corny? Well maybe to you, but not to me, because within the past five days I have been fortunate to attend three great musical performances i.e. Blues at the Library. Scarborough Fair Community Concert and Friday after Five at the Newton Arboretum and ... two of the three were free.
In the coming days and months, I can look forward to even more. Right now the musical “Mame” is playing at the Community Theatre and “Notes in Newton” are performance is coming to the First Presbyterian Church.
In the summer, I will be treated to music on the lawn of the library, the Maytag bowl summer concerts and the Bowlful of Blues. Wow!
I know for me, music is a mood changer, but that’s not all. It’s about community and sharing and camaraderie and caring and supporting.
If you haven’t’ been involved you’re missing out. You can’t say there’s nothing to do in Newton. I for one feel like Newton is a music city and I am lucky to live in a town that has an appreciation for the arts and an open invitation to participate.
