We all know what good journalists Jocelyn Sheets and Troy Hyde are, and they add so much to the Newton Daily News with their detailed sports stories from all over Jasper County. I think what we don’t often appreciate enough is the fine job they do with the photographs they take which accompany their reports.
Case in point: the shot of Lynnville-Sully’s senior wrestler Carson Dunsbergen lifting his Knoxville opponent is simply ingenious, perfect timing of a make-or-break moment in the wrestling match held in Sully last week, seen on page 8B of Monday’s edition. It more than confirms the old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words. (Too bad the mat maids at the back weren’t paying attention!)
Be it any sport from track and field to basketball to bowling, both Jocelyn and Troy more than step up to the plate when it comes to superb photographic documentation of the events they cover. Great variety, too. Congratulations, you two, and happy holidays to you both!
